Although the story and this website have no formal connection to the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF), the author would like to raise awareness of their work.

As the recognised charity of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, it is the aim of the CWGF to keep the stories alive of those lost during the two World Wars through its outreach programmes, such as our Speakers and Tour Guide volunteers and our Guides working in Northern France and Belgium. Your donation will support these programmes, allowing us to engage with all communities, especially the young, with stories of sacrifice that should not be forgotten.
